Local government secretary Markus Dörig said: "Local people were offended by the visitors. "It became clear there was a desire to fine people. "We live in the countryside and people here want to live a quiet and undisturbed life.
"These incidents were really annoying."
The laws were changed late last week, now allowing local authorities to give the naturists a $280 on-the-spot fine. Despite most villagers being relieved at the cover-it-up laws being passed, central committee of the International Naturist Foundation Barbara Foley told the Daily Mail: “I can understand that we all have to live in this world together. “But I would certainly enjoy doing the hike in the nude and I wouldn't want to be deprived of it. “It's nice to feel the sun on your skin.
“Maybe they should designate a couple of trails and people would know they might come across naturists there.”
Germany's Spiegel magazine said that the practice of "FKK" (which stands for "free body culture") is a serious pursuit in Germany.
Nudism was already popular at the beginning of the 20th century and enjoyed a heyday in the 1920s, but was later suppressed by the Nazis.

Is This Really Necessary? Swiss Ban Germans From Hiking Nude
Leave it to the Germans to somehow offend the normally laid back Swiss. The latest "international incident" involving these two countries has to do with an "army of invading nude German hikers" who have invaded the small town of Appenzell wearing nothing but pair of sturdy boots and a rucksack. It all started after a German nudist organisation promoted the area for “nature” walks for its members. Now the Swiss have had to pass a law banning nude hiking.
