Jeremiah Buxton first made his way onto Town Creek Police’s radar after he refused to wear seat belt, much to the displeasure of family members who were concerned for his safety. Buxton got fed up with the concern, jumped out of the truck, and disappeared into a field.
He later resurfaced at a home not far from the first incident, claimed to be Jesus, and stripped down naked. Toxicology reports say he had weed and meth in his system… I wonder which one of those intoxicants drove Mr. Buxton to assume his alternate identity: Safety-restraint-hating, home-invading, naked, Jesus?
He was found in a home on County Road 141 less than a mile from the truck - naked. Chief Garrett says Buxton broke into a home while a woman and her two young children were home, claiming to be Jesus Christ. He reportedly began taking pictures off the wall as the family fled the home.
Courtland and Town Creek officers converged on the home and took Buxton in to custody without incident. A drug test latest showed he had marijuana and methamphetamine in his system.
