Women Celebrate "Go Topless Day" by . . . Going Topless on Venice Boardwalk

"Free your boobies, free your mind!"  Put the 'tit' back in 'Constitutional!' "Nobody likes tan lines!"

These were just some of the rallying cries that united the "Go Topless Day" protestors at the Venice Boardwalk yesterday afternoon. March leader James Rich weaved the chants in between Bob Marley ("Get Up, Stand Up") and Beatles ("All You Need Is Love") songs, while the topless women beside him held signs and cheered for the cause.

The group was protesting California's unequal topless laws for men and women. While men are allowed to be completely shirtless where it's appropriate (i.e. the beach and the pool), women cannot expose their breasts and nipples (except at adult entertainment establishments) unless they want to be arrested for indecent exposure. The march coincided with other protests nationwide on the same day.

Nude Maid Services Opens in . . . Fort Wayne, Indiana?

We've heard of these nude maid services before, but booming in conservative Northern Indiana? That's shocking and also a little bit funny. (Thanks to reader Gary S. for the link!)

A Fort Wayne man has started a business that he says is unique to the Fort Wayne area. It’s a maid service with a twist. Fort Wayne Dust Bunnies offers light housekeeping to its clients, but the cleaning is done in the nude. The business owner, who asked that NewsChannel 15 not use his name to protect his anonymity, said business is booming.

“We're to the point now that we're working almost every day and we’re getting repeat business,” he said. The maids are only permitted to do light housekeeping duties: washing dishes, vacuuming, and dusting.

Clients pay $60 per hour during the week for the service, and there’s a two hour minimum required.  Each maid travels with a security guard and clients are not permitted touch the women.  The owner said the maids earn roughly $30 per hour.
