Nothing probably gets a cops heart rate up like having to corral a crazy naked man at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. But when he tries to jump into a moving vehicle, you know it's time to whip out the Taser.
Ouch!
Wheaton police got the unusual call about 3 p.m. Tuesday about a man wearing no clothes and running erratically around the area of Elm and Blanchard, Deputy Chief Tom Meloni said. “He was running through the neighborhood with no clothes on, banging on doors, yelling incoherently and damaging property,” Meloni said. “He broke the door at one house and entered another house where the people were at home.”
When officers “tried to stop the man by yelling at him to lay down, he tried to jump into a moving car,” Meloni said. “They finally had to use a Taser to take him into custody safely.” No one was injured in the incident, but the 20-year-old Wheaton resident was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, where he remained on Wednesday for “observation,” Meloni said.
